27th August, 2012: Pillow Case Skirt

/ Wednesday, December 26, 2012 /
After the usual routine checkup on all my favorite diy fashion websites I remembered bookmarking a certain "recycled diy skirt" tutorial found on Rookie Mag.com which is this http://rookiemag.com/2012/01/pillowcase-skirt-tutorial/. It was extremely easy and perfect for a rookie like myself as I am no expert on sewing. It required basic materials and the final product turned out to be very stylish and something out of the ordinary.

All of the steps required only a straight stitch and I understood the directions on how to get my own elastic waistband size very well so I had no problems what so ever. In total, I had no problems on sewing this skirt as the directions were pretty straightforward and the pillowcase acted like a fill in template itself. I especially liked the end where I used a scallop pattern to make a unique hem on the bottom of the skirt which I think makes the skirt stand out even more.
